Viking's 2024-25 world cruise will be offered as a 180-day circumnavigation from Fort Lauderdale to New York or four shorter iterations.

The full voyage sails Dec. 19, 2024 to June 17, 2025 and visits 37 countries and 85 ports, with overnight stays at 13 cities.

The announcement comes at a time of record bookings with the launch of Viking’s new 25th Anniversary Sale on Jan. 1 resulting in the highest number of bookings in one week in the company’s history. On Jan. 9, Viking scored its strongest single sales day ever.

Strong demand expected

'Our previous world cruises sold out in a matter of weeks, and we continue to see strong demand from our guests for extended voyages,' Viking Chairman Torstein Hagen said.

The 930-passenger Viking Sky will explore Central America, transit the Panama Canal and journey up the West Coast of North America before crossing the Pacific Ocean and calling at the Hawaiian islands and French Polynesia then traversing New Zealand and Australia. The voyage continues through Asia, the Middle East, the Mediterranean and Northern Europe before crossing the Atlantic and ending at New York.

The detailed itinerary is here.

Shorter versions

A shorter 163-day portion of the sailing departs from Los Angeles on Jan. 5, 2025 and visits 29 countries and 78 ports before ending at New York. Other options are a 138-day Fort Lauderdale-London (Greenwich) voyage or a 121-day Los Angeles-London journey visiting 23 countries.

Overnight and double overnight stays

Overnight stays are offered in 13 ports such as Sydney, Haifa, Singapore and Istanbul, and double overnights in Auckland, Bali, Ho Chi Minh, Yangon, Mumbai and Bergen.

Starting at $79,995, with savings through March 31

Fares start at $79,995 for the 180-day circumnavigation.

Through March 31, 2023, Viking is offering special world cruise savings including business class air, ground transfers to and from the ship, all onboard gratuities and service fees, complimentary visa service and Silver Spirits beverage package (which includes virtually all drinks onboard) as well as free luggage shipping for embarkation.

Plus, all world cruisers receive $2,000 per person shore excursions credit, which can be used toward optional excursions or overland tours, as well as $1,000 per person shipboard credit for spa services, onboard shops and laundry.
