Visit Anchorage’s new promotional thrust in Australasia

Serenade of the Seas was the first cruise ship to return to Alaska since 2019
Canuckiwi Consulting & Representation, which has offices in Sydney and Auckland, has been reappointed to represent Visit Anchorage in Australasia.

Visit Anchorage first appointed Canuckiwi to represent it in Australia and New Zealand in August 2016. The contract was paused in June 2020 and Canuckiwi was reappointed this month.

Readying for international travel to resume

With Canada lifting its ban on cruise ships and major operators returning to Alaska, with Royal Caribbean International’s Serenade of the Seas first to arrive since the 2019 season, Canuckiwi’s Corey Marshall said it is an extremely important time to make trade partners aware of the offerings available when international travel resumes in 2022.

Marshall, a founder of Anderson Vacations in Calgary, said Visit Anchorage is looking to engage with travel agents so they are ready to help clients as they travel again.

Online training

Canuckiwi is organising an online Anchorage Wild training programme for agents in Australia and New Zealand.

The four-modules will commence on September 15 and every agent who completes the programme will be certified as an Anchorage Wild Expert.
