1934 Rolls-Royce Saloon
The vintage 1934 Rolls-Royce Saloon was offloaded from Carnival Ecstasy at Mobile last Thursday and is being shipped to Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland where Carnival Celebration is under construction.
Carnival Ecstasy will be exiting the fleet following its Oct. 10 cruise from Mobile.
New 'parking spot' in The Gateway
The car that thousands of Carnival passengers have admired and photographed will find a new home adjacent to Carnival Celebration's The Gateway, a two-deck zone that celebrates travel.
The Gateway includes The Golden Jubilee, a bar highlighting Carnival ships over the last 50 years. The bar will feature memorabilia and original pieces from several earlier vessels so the Rolls-Royce fits right in.
A Joe Farcus find in Wales
Carnival Ecstasy designer Joe Farcus searched all over the UK to find the perfect car to fit the space outside the ship’s Rolls-Royce Café. It was acquired from a small antique car dealer in northern Wales.
Carnival Celebration is scheduled to begin service in early November with a 14-day trans-Atlantic voyage from Southampton to its new PortMiami home.
