Carnival Jubilee sports two new sea-themed zones
Carnival Jubilee, debuting later this year, will have ocean-themed experiences in two new zones: Currents and The Shores.
April 25, 2023
Currents, encompassing Deck 6 and Deck 7, is an immersive space that takes travelers below the waves with a playful vibe, new bar and dining venues and live music. The space will change from day to night and throughout the cruise.
Six huge LED windows comprise portals to the sea. Those, along with a massive wave-shaped LED ceiling, theatrical show lighting and sound design will create a variety of immersive environments for cocktail sipping and dining.
Venues within Currents include Dr.Inks, Ph.D with eight octopus arms as a centerpiece. This bar, with live music, will serve ocean-themed drinks such as color-changing cocktails, jellyfish and layered shots and playful items featuring sea foam, boba pearls and unusual garnishes.

The Golden Mermaid lounge is themed on a mermaid who swims to the depths of the oceans to find long-lost treasures of ancient civilizations and uncovers secret cocktail recipes. Cocktails inspired by precious gemstones and metals are made with edible glitter. A band will perform on stage.
Emeril’s Bistro 717 offers creole cuisine, an expansive seafood selection and expanded raw bar by Carnival Cruise Line Chief Culinary Officer Emeril Lagasse, the renowned restaurateur.
Named after Carnival Jubilee’s hull number at Meyer Werft, Emeril’s Bistro 717 will serve a rich breakfast with dishes such as shrimp and grits, poached eggs and beignets. At lunch and dinner, seafood creations include creole boiled shrimp, fresh oysters, stone crab (seasonally) and lobster, as well as authentic Louisiana cuisine featuring Emeril’s signature jambalaya, New Orleans-style barbecue shrimp and duck and sausage gumbo.
Additional venues in Currents include Alchemy Bar and Carnival Kitchen.
The Shores
On Deck 8, The Shores is where the ocean meets land, a zone inspired by piers, boardwalks and beaches. A three-deck-high fish school art installation rises from Deck 6 to Deck 8, bringing travelers from Currents below to the surface.
Fresh pizza at Coastal Slice
Here, a stroll along the boardwalk includes a Ferris wheel-inspired ceiling feature and casual inside and outside seating areas. Fresh pizza will be available at Coastal Slice, while Beach Buns serves sandwiches and hot dogs.
Marina Bar, with its nautical designs and lounge seating, will serve coffee and cocktails inside by the boardwalk or outside by the sea.
Rudi’s Seagrill and Cucina del Capitano return with indoor and alfresco seating.
Four other zones reprised
Carnival Jubilee's other four zones — also aboard Excel-class sisters Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration — include Grand Central, The Ultimate Playground, Summer Landing and Lido.
At the heart of the ship, Grand Central spans Decks 6, 7 and 8 with bars and access to Piano Bar 88, Punchliner Comedy Club, Cloud 9 Fitness Center, Cherry on Top, Bonsai Sushi and Teppanyaki, shops, the casino and theater. At night, this zone transforms with LED screens and a stage for entertainment.
The Ultimate Playground is home to Carnival's popular BOLT roller-coaster, WaterWorks aqua park and SportSquare featuring a mini-golf course, full-court basketball and a ropes course.
Beyond The Shores zone, Summer Landing continues Deck 8’s relaxed vibe and is home to Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse, Heroes Tribute Lounge, The Patio with a pool and whirlpools and a poolside bar.
Lido, the poolside zone that spans Decks 16 and 17, is home to the Carnival Seaside Theater, two-story RedFrog Tiki Bar, BlueIguana Cantina, Guy’s Burger Joint, Shaquille O’Neal’s Big Chicken restaurant, Seafood Shack, Street Eats, Lido Marketplace, Circle C, Club 02 and The Warehouse Arcade.
Cruises from Galveston
Carnival Jubilee is scheduled to begin sailing from Galveston on Dec. 23, joining Carnival Breeze and Carnival Dream operating year-round from the Texas port. In 2024, Carnival will increase its Galveston deployment to four ships when Carnival Miracle begins operating a new series of longer cruises.
