The design office provides engineering and technical support for American Cruise Lines' newbuild program and fleet operations. Chesapeake Shipbuilding also constructs tugboats and other types of vessels.
The company said its design team undertakes challenging projects from conceptual design to detailed practical design and commissioning.
Chesapeake Shipbuilding plans and builds steel commercial vessels of 90 feet to 350 feet. The yard currently has three ocean-going tugs and three 270-foot cruise vessels under construction, one to be delivered next month to American Cruise Lines.
The company said it has upgraded its production capacity significantly in recent years by acquiring additional land, building new hull fabrication buildings and investing in additional automated equipment.
