Dawn Princess gets thumbs up from agents

Speaking to Seatrade Insider when Princess Cruises’ freshly-painted 77,000gt resident ship arrived in Sydney today after a two-night repositioning from the Forgacs shipyard in Brisbane, Jardine said he was ‘absolutely amazed at what has been done in two short weeks.’

Jardine, who presented introductory training modules to the consultants he took on the coastal voyage, said everyone had ‘inspected the ship from stem to stern’ and had given it the thumbs up.

‘We knew we were going to preview the Movies Under the Stars screen, but we were also knocked out by the new upholstery and carpet, the resurfaced decks and mosaic tiling around the pool area and the remodelled boutiques and photo gallery,’ he said. ‘It is a top product for the Australian market.’

Carnival Australia will host a preview brunch on July 5 for industry and media representatives aboard Dawn Princess, which sails this evening on a 13-night Fijian Jewels cruise.

On July 5 the ship will depart Sydney again on the first world cruise from Australia. This historic 104-night voyage will call at 42 ports, returning to Sydney on October 16.
