A total of 156 suites were furnished with new materials, carpets and furniture, while the ship's public areas got new carpeting and the atrium and pool area were renovated.

Some 650 specialists worked on the comprehensive modernisations, including 5,200 square metres of new carpeting and 1,000 square metres of renewed Bolidt flooring. Twenty-five tonnes of paint were applied to the ship.

All 152 Veranda Suites on Decks 5, 6, 7 and 9 got a new colour scheme. The predominantly sandy and natural colours combined with berry tones and new, modern chairs are aimed at creating a fresh and airy atmosphere.

The living areas of the four Spa Suites on Deck 7 were renovated with bright wall closets and new seating.

The atrium has a new colour scheme, carpet islands and contemporary lounge furniture to give a more comfortable, leisurely ambiance.

The pool area on Decks 8 and 9 got new tiles, maritime colours and, for a special evening atmosphere, floating lights.

On the dining front, late risers will now be able to get a late breakfast at Restaurant Dieter Müller. Besides breakfast specialities, the menu will feature a daily recommendation created by Müller, available until noon.

All public spaces, corridors and staircases have new carpeting, woven exclusively for Europa in a custom design.

Europa is embarking on a journey to France and Spain, calling at ports including Brest, Nantes and Bilbao.
