Also undergoing work were Eurodam, Volendam and Veendam.
Maasdam’s added facilities and features included new stateroom furnishings and bathroom upgrades; Canaletto, an Italian dinner spot; the remake of the main lounge into a Showroom at Sea; and Mix, combining three distinct bars in one area.
Twenty-nine new Lanai staterooms were added, and 16 staterooms across verandah suite, outside and inside categories were converted into spa staterooms.
Maasdam was the fifth ship to receive these changes, following Veendam, Statendam, Rotterdam and Ryndam.
The 1999-built Volendam’s drydock at Sembawang in Singapore included new carpet in most of the public areas and restaurants. Audio and lighting enhancements were completed in the show lounge. Staterooms received new carpeting and soft goods, and all furniture was reupholstered and refinished.
Crew cabins and recreation areas were also updated. Volendam’s hull was repainted and a number of technical maintenance repairs were performed.
The 2008-built Eurodam’s docking at Grand Bahama Shipyard involved new carpets, privacy curtains along the atrium side of the Pinnacle Grill, hull coating and some routine technical upgrades.
The 1996-built Veendam’s drydock, also at Freeport, included routine technical updates. The aft Lido Deck retreat area was modified with a new design with more open deck space, two pools and two hot tubs.
