Lalique to adorn two Silversea Le Dame restaurantsLalique to adorn two Silversea Le Dame restaurants
Silversea Cruises' new collaboration with the legendary brand Lalique will bring decorative crystal artworks to enhance the designs of La Dame restaurants aboard two ships.
August 3, 2019

They are Silver Shadow, which will undergo an extensive renovation in November, and Silver Moon, due to enter service in August 2020.
Silversea’s La Dame restaurants serve French gourmet cuisine in an elegant, refined setting, offering the perfect canvas for Lalique’s world-famous artistry.
Bespoke crystal panels
The Silver Moon and Silver Shadow restaurants will be enriched by the installation of several handmade, bespoke Lalique crystal panels. Positioned at the entrances and along the walls, the panels will incorporate motifs imagined by Lalique founder René Lalique in 1935. They are the Masque de Femme, the face of a mysterious nymph with delicate features, surrounded by aquatic life, and Coutard, its geometric pattern representing a spray of water droplets that evoke ocean waves.
In a first for the master glassmakers of Lalique, the panels will not require a metal frame, providing a lighter feel to highlight the crystal composition.
Lalique on Normandie
The collaboration with Silversea fits with Lalique heritage, Chairman Silvio Denz said, because in 1935, René Lalique participated in the interior design of the first-class dining room of the luxury ocean liner Normandie.
'We are thrilled that today Lalique’s iconic designs will be featured aboard the Silver Shadow and Silver Moon,' he said.
During Silver Shadow’s extensive refurbishment in November, La Dame will be remodeled and expanded to accommodate up to 40 diners. Aboard Silver Moon, La Dame will be positioned on Deck 8 and will accommodate almost triple the number of guests as on its sister ship, 2017's Silver Muse.
