The 1,950-passenger ship has embarked on a 12-night 'Treasures of Southeast Asia' cruise that will end in Fremantle. Sea Princess will then begin a season of homeporting in Australia until May.

Following a 35-night Hawaii, Tahiti and South Pacific cruise, the ship will embark on a 106-night world voyage before returning to Australia to homeport until January 2019.

Sea Princess emerged from its docking with the Princess 'seawitch' logo adorning the bow.

New entertainment options include a 'Movies Under the Stars' screen; the 'Encore' musical production featuring tributes to pop, opera and musical theatre; and 'The Voice of the Ocean' singing competition complete with a live band, coaches and swiveling red chairs, just like the popular television show.

The Princess Theatre has been outfitted with a new LED wall measuring 15 meters wide and nearly five meters high, providing dynamic video and graphics projection to enhance the productions.

All cabins were upgraded with Princess Luxury Beds. A new 'SLEEP by Princess Kit' includes items such as eye shades, earplugs, aromatherapy scents and sleep expert Dr. Michael Breus's good night app.

A new category of Club Class Mini-Suites was created with amenities like exclusive dining in a reserved area with enhanced menu options including tableside preparation, and priority embarkation and disembarkation.

Three dining areas received new options, including a new Café Corniche menu of Italian-inspired dishes, classic pizzas and flat breads. In addition, The Wheelhouse Bar offers a new beverage menu, and the classic Crooners Bar was upgraded with a modern design.

Youth spaces were transformed into the line's new Camp Discovery, offering immersive activities themed on nature and the ports visited by the ship.

Several Princess ships have been refurbished in Singapore in the past few years. Last April Diamond Princess got upgrades and new livery to the tune of US$20m. This followed $30m of work in March 2014 that included being fitted with the largest Japanese bath at sea, an 8,800-square-foot bath and garden complex.

Sapphire Princess is scheduled for a refurbishment in Singapore in March, following its homeporting season at Marina Bay Cruise Centre. After that, the ship will sail in Europe for the summer.

Diamond Princess is scheduled to return to Singapore for docking in October 2018 before joining Sapphire Princess for the 2018/19 homeporting season in Singapore.
