The 148-passenger Wind Spirit, the last to undergo refurbishment, was updated with new furnishings, upholstery, art, lighting, wall coverings, carpeting, ceiling finishes, window treatments and floor coverings during the month-long renovation. The design palette, consistent with the other two yachts, combines sand and marine colors that contrast with the wood finishes.

AmphorA, the fleet’s new fine-dining experience featuring international cuisine, took the place of The Restaurant. Wind Spirit also received enhancements in The Lounge, Casino, Reception, Pool Bar and Library.

The 310-passenger Wind Surf completed its renovation in early December. Wind Star, the sister yacht of Wind Spirit, was fully renovated in April last year. The staterooms and suites of all three yachts were refurbished in spring 2012.  

Windstar ceo Hans Birkholz said passenger feedback on the changes has been ‘excellent.’

To celebrate the completion of the renovation, Windstar threw a party on board Wind Surf’s ‘Flavors of the Caribbean’ voyage in December. The festivities included fireworks in Le Marin, Martinique, provided by the Martinique Tourism Authority. In addition, Birkholz and other Windstar executives sailed on the newly renovated yacht, mingling with passengers and collecting initial feedback.

Birkholz said the company ‘will continue to invest in small-ship opportunities’ in 2013.
