The majority of these features will be incorporated during a drydock at Grand Bahama Shipyard from April 19 to May 3.
Following the docking, Carnival Freedom will resume its six- to eight-day Caribbean schedule from Fort Lauderdale and introduce two new five-day options, marking the first time that a Fun Ship 2.0-equipped ship will operate a short cruise itinerary from South Florida.
As part of the Seuss at Sea program, Carnival Freedom will become the first vessel to feature Bookville, a Seuss-themed play space of iconic décor, colors, shapes and funky furniture. Bookville will be the place for families to relax and unwind, read Dr. Seuss books or take part in family activities such as arts and crafts, toys and Dr. Seuss-inspired games.
Other Seuss at Sea activities include the Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast with the Cat in the Hat and Friends, an interactive reading event called Seuss-a-palooza Story Time and the Seuss-a-palooza Character Parade along the ship’s promenade. Bookville and other Seuss at Sea activities are scheduled to be available by the May 24 departure.
Among the Fun Ship 2.0 additions will be Guy’s Burger Joint, BlueIguana Cantina, EA SPORTS Bar, RedFrog Rum Bar, RedFrog Pub and the Alchemy Bar for vintage-themed and custom cocktails prepared by mixologists.
Hasbro, The Game Show will join Carnival Freedom's entertainment program, and the new shop Cherry on Top will sell bulk candy, gifts and novelties.
The Warehouse will be a family-friendly entertainment center with a wide variety of video and arcade games where players can win tickets to redeem for prizes. This is scheduled to be completed by the June 14 departure.
