Crystal Symphony's first revenue cruise following its extensive refurbishment is due to sail from Piraeus Sept. 1
Crystal Symphony, in the final stages of refurbishment at Fincantieri's Monfalcone yard, completed sea trials ahead of its inaugural cruise from Piraeus Sept. 1.

The ship carried a full contingent of officers, technicians and engineers who tested navigation, technical and mechanical systems.  In addition, Crystal said it ensured the fire-resistant panels were certified correctly and are not defective.

This follows Crystal Serenity's recent introduction following its upgrade.

Collective effort

'To be able to relaunch our brand and two ships within such a short amount of time is completely unprecedented, and we could not have done it without the amazing work of our leadership and teams, both on board and shoreside,' said Roberto Fazi, SVP marine operations. 'We also wouldn’t be here without our partners at Fincantieri who worked around the clock to deliver this beautiful ship on time.'

Crystal Symphony passengers will find updated and larger suites, refreshed specialty dining venues including the new Osteria d’Ovidio, named after Crystal Executive Chairman Manfredi Lefebvre d'Ovidio, the fully renovated and renamed Aurōra Spa, and a new pickleball court.

The ship is scheduled to spend the rest of the summer in Europe before repositioning to Africa in October and then sailing in Australia and Asia.
