'The Japan cruises on board Diamond Princess have been a big hit amongst our guests in the region as they love to experience the culture, famous sites and local cuisine of Japan,' said Farriek Tawfik, director, Southeast Asia, Princess Cruises. The ship also provides closer-to-home departures which add to the convenience and ease for regional cruisers.
Seventh season from Yokohama and Kobe
This is the seventh season Princess has offered homeport voyages from Yokohama and Kobe that take passengers to far-flung destinations in Japan not easily accessed by land, Tawfik continued. Itineraries allow travelers to see the spring flowers, summer festivals and fall foliage.
New cruise-tour options
Plus, cruise-tour options were introduced this year that combine a cruise with more time on land. The 13- to 20-night packages pair a cruise with a land tour to iconic cities such as Kyoto and Tokyo.
Following the drydock, Diamond Princess has embarked on a 12-night sailing to Phu My, Nha Trang, Hong Kong, Taipei, Osaka and Shimizu (Mount Fuji) before returning to Yokohama for the 2019 Japan cruise season. Featured are 60 departures of 40 unique itineraries, visiting 41 destinations in seven countries.
Largest open-air Japanese bath at sea
