Some 850 workers were involved in the refurbishment that involved 840 areas.
Europa's spa was enlarged and converted into the Ocean Spa with treatment rooms for Shiatsu massage and wet massage, along with a thalasso bathtub and a hammock. The relaxation room and the reception area were totally renewed, and a Babor Beauty Lounge was added.
Other areas of the ship that were refreshed include the popular Belvedere coffee lounge at the bow and the Havana Bar smoking lounge. Belvedere now sports a new color scheme, while the Havana Bar was fitted with new furniture and wallpaper.
The former gallery was converted into the Atelier, a multifunctional room suitable for events including lectures and sports classes. In addition to these key projects, all public areas were renewed with 2,900 square meters of carpet.
On the technical side, various works were carried out as well, including the replacement of an Azipod control unit.
Europa resumed service Friday in Hamburg, embarking passengers for a 12-day cruise to Bilbao.
The work closely follows a major restyling of Europa 2, also at Blohm+Voss.
