Harris Pye and Sobrena collaborate for cruise refurb work
UK-headquartered Harris Pye Group and Sobrena Shiprepair Yard, of Brest, France have signed a non-exclusive collaboration to work together providing services for refurbishment, repair, upgrade, conversion and life extension of vessels and offshore assets, including cruise ships.

The two companies have worked together for over five years and under the terms of the recently signed MOU, plan to form an integrated project team from both parties to offer design, engineering, supply, installation, commissioning and docking and yard facilities.

‘We have each identified our particular strengths, and will be working to those,’ says Mark Prendergast, md Harris Pye. ‘We are looking forward to working even more closely now with Sobrena, but, of course both companies retain their independence in their core business,’ he noted.

The Harris Pye Group is a rapidly expanding global player with over 750 employees in the UK and main stations
in Dubai and Singapore plus offices and repair facilities in Scandinavia, Portugal, Brazil, Bahrain, Indonesia, Malaysia and Japan.

Specialists in repair of marine and industrial boilers,
Harris Pye has expertise in automation, control engineering and ship repair; industrial services; the manufacture of food-grade stainless steel galley/land-based kitchen equipment; and ship outfitting.

Sobrena was established in 1987 and is owned by Group Meunier, an industrial maintenance company. With three dry-docks of up to 80mtr in width and 420mtr in length, Sobrena is able to accommodate almost all ships.

Located in Brest, Sobrena is situated at the entrance of the
English Channel, with no entrance restriction and sheltered mooring area.

Michel Faou, general manager of Sobrena said, ‘Sobrena is happy to be able to present additional alternatives to customers in the Atlantic Basin.’
