P&O reports The Glass House is taking flight
Peller Ice Cuvee, Blind River Sauvignon Blanc and Perez Cruz Cabernet Sauvignon are proving firm favorites in television wine expert Olly Smith’s wine bar on Azura, P&O Cruises reports.

The Glass House offers 32 wines by the glass and a menu that recommends wines by the glass for each course. The Glass House uses an Enomatic system to dispense the wines.

Patrons also can order flights consisting of three 125ml glasses of different vintages. There are seven flights, each with a theme. Examples include luxury wines, wines from classic wine-growing regions, wines from new wine-growing regions and Olly’s favorite wines. The ‘Beginner’s Luck’ flight is priced at £7.95.

Smith, who has made several trips on board Azura to host wine tastings and talk with passengers, said the fleet house wines that were blended recently received the ‘commended’ award from the Decanter World Wine Awards 2010. Also, the Porta Palo white wine earned a ‘commended’ award from the International Wine and Spirits Competition 2010.

Smith is scheduled to sail with Azura from Southampton on Sept. 21, a seven-night cruise, and on Sept. 21, a 12-night cruise.
