The Sapphire Princess upgrades were part of Princess Cruises' multi-year, $450m ship renovation program, the ‘Come Back New Promise'
Sapphire Princess set off from Singapore en route to Southampton today, decked out in Princess Cruises' new livery and upgrades to accommodations, entertainment, kids' facilities, the spa and retail areas completed during a two-week dry dock.

The Singapore docking capped the ship's Asia season, and the 28-day voyage to the UK will position Sapphire Princess for cruises in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe, including the British Isles and Norwegian Fjords. Sapphire Princess is scheduled to return to Singapore in November for a fifth homeporting season, together with Diamond Princess.

The dry dock work was part of Princess Cruises' multi-year, $450m ship renovation program, the ‘Come Back New Promise.'

Sapphire Princess now sports the company's sea witch logo on the bow.

Club Class mini-suites were installed, featuring VIP amenities and exclusive dining. This new elevated mini-suite category provides a reserved dining area with expedited seating and expanded menu options as well as priority embarkation and disembarkation.

By June, all accommodations will offer the Princess Luxury Bed developed in collaboration with board-certified sleep expert Dr. Michael Breus and HGTV designer Candice Olson.

Facilities for children and teens ages 3 to 17 were reimagined into the Camp Discovery Youth & Teen Center, created in partnership with Discovery Consumer Products, the licensing arm of Discovery. Programs cater to specific age groups with activities designed to help them discover, play, create and huddle.

Located in the Princess Theater, a new LED wall will be used in production shows and various guest entertainer performances. The wall is comprised of 270 panels installed on a custom-engineered and shock-mounted frame to display still images, video and live feeds.

Debuting in May, the new 'Bravo' show featured on formal night is one of the highest-rated shows across the Princess fleet. It combines pop, opera and musical theater performed by a guest soprano accompanied by a live orchestra.

In other changes, the Shops of Princess were upgraded with additions including a branded Effy Fine Jewelry boutique. Princess-branded athletic wear and logo apparel are available in a newly designed Logo shop.

In the Lotus Spa & Fitness Center, salon and treatments rooms were upgraded and the latest fitness equipment was installed.

Further general refurnishing and technical updates were also carried out on the 2004-built ship.
