Seven Seas Navigator emerges from 50-day docking
A new Canyon Ranch SpaClub, new dining options and fresh fabrics and furnishings are among the works completed during Regent Seven Seas Navigator’s 50-day drydock at Lloyd Werft. The ship debuted yesterday at Port Everglades.

The 1999-built Navigator also received a ducktail to improve stability and buoyancy.

The former health club and an observation lounge were transformed into the Canyon Ranch SpaClub with thalassotherapy treatment rooms, including a couple’s suite. An aerobics studio and new gymnasium with cardio and strength-training machines were added, both with forward-facing ocean views. Locker rooms, including his and hers sauna and steam rooms, were updated along with the beauty salon. A juice bar and relaxation lounge were installed.

Other highlights of the refurbishment include a new restaurant, Prime 7, for prime-aged steaks and chops, poultry and fresh seafood, in a room with a palette of green and gold with leather seating, granite and burnished woods.

The main dining room, Compass Rose, underwent a dramatic update, gaining new window treatments, carpets and plush cranberry and camel armchairs. New signature china, silver and glassware completed the redesign.

La Veranda, with indoor and al fresco seating, replaced the Portofino restaurant. New furniture, carpeting and draperies were used to create an elegant ambiance. Food stations were redesigned and enhanced. The dinner menu now features regionally themed specialties.

A new Pool Grill offers a hot and cold buffet, panini station and coffee and dessert area in addition to a new barbecue grill. The Pool Bar, at the other end of the pool deck, was expanded and added a new ice cream station including machines for milkshakes and frappes.

Stars Lounge was made over with a ruby-red carpet running the length of the entryway setting the stage for a glamorous club-like venue with furnishings that exude a classic Hollywood elegance. Galileo’s gained new interiors, window coverings and a sleek new bar area. An outdoor lounge with sofas and chaises was added.

The Navigator Lounge now sports hues of cappuccino, camel and navy accented by apple green. The card room and library were redecorated and all public spaces throughout the ship were refreshed.

Seven Seas Navigator will operate seven- to 11-night cruises to the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America this winter, followed seven-night Alaska cruises between Vancouver and Anchorage. After the Alaska season, the ship embarks on a 96-night ‘Grand Asia Pacific’ cruise.
