Trimline outfits Azura and Saga Pearl II
Southampton-based marine outfitters Trimline recently completed contracts on two British-based ships ahead of the start of the summer season, one a newbuild and one a refit.

Saga Cruises’ Saga Pearl II underwent a two month spell in dry dock at Swansea during which time Trimline carried out a series of projects including upgrades to the spa, beauty salon, shop, cinema and hospital.

The project involved creating a new gym and associated areas including a treatment, spa room and store room. New flooring, including hessian and vinyl was installed, bespoke joinery was fitted and the areas were stripped out and decorated.

On a higher deck, the previous duty free shop was converted to a general retail area with Trimline fitting a new slat wall and carpeting, following redecorating. The small cinema was also refurbished, including new seating. Another area upgraded was the ship’s hospital where Trimline experts laid new poly and amtico flooring.

In addition, Trimline provided soft furnishings for P&O Cruises’ Azura currently on her maiden cruise. This involved the UK company manufacturing and fitting over 20,000 items of soft furnishings for more than 2,000 passenger and crew cabins. The task involved more than 4,000 bed throws, some 3,000 valances, more than 4,000 scatter cushions and over 5,000 pairs of curtains. Some 21,000 metres of fabric was used.
