Bookings open for new Viking Mississippi cruises

Viking opened reservations to the general public for its new Mississippi River cruises, set to launch in 2022.

The modern-style Viking Mississippi is scheduled to debut in August 2022 with voyages on the Lower and Upper Mississippi, between New Orleans and St. Paul, Minnesota.

The 386-passenger, five-deck vessel will be built at Edison Chouest Offshore in Louisiana.

Inspiration for future travel

'At a time when many of us are at home, looking for inspiration to travel in the future, I am pleased to introduce a new, modern way to explore this great river,' Viking Chairman Torstein Hagen said.

Past Viking customers got first dibs for bookings, starting March 30.
