Viking Sobek, which will become Viking's sixth Nile River vessel, was floated out at Cairo's Massara shipyard.

The 82-passenger newbuild is set to debut in the fall on Viking's 12-day 'Pharoahs & Pyramids' itinerary.

'We believe the Viking Sobek and her sister ships are by far the most elegant vessels on the Nile, and we look forward to welcoming even more guests to explore this fantastic region,' Viking Chairman/CEO Torstein Hagen said.

A traditional float-out ceremony took place at the yard, and Viking Sobek will now be moved to a nearby outfitting dock for final construction and interior build-out.

Follows this summer's Viking Hathor debut

Viking Sobek is an identical sister of 2022's Viking Osiris, 2023's Viking Aton and the new Viking Hathor, which is scheduled to debut this summer.

Additional vessels in Viking's Egypt fleet include Viking Ra and Antares.
