Acapulco is scheduled to receive 28 cruise calls in 2017, up from 18 last year, despite Holland America Line's recent decision to drop eight stops due to security concerns.

City and port officials said they plan to meet with HAL officials to present ongoing security advances.
Nine other lines are still booked for visits, among them Norwegian Cruise Line, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Silversea Cruises, Oceania Cruises, Crystal Cruises, Saga and Hapag-Lloyd.
A delegation headed by the Acapulco Tourism Board together with API Acapulco, executives of the Acapulco Destination Marketing Office and several tour operators attended Seatrade Cruise Global this month to talk with cruise operators.
A meeting is also scheduled with the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association's Operations Committee.
The Acapulco Destination Marketing Office said Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings has cited Acapulco as a positive model for Peru's Port of Callao and Peruvian officials are scheduled for a visit to observe operations.
The Center for Tourist Attention and Protection assists in helping create a safe environment in Acapulco for cruise ship visits. Federal, state and municipal authorities have reiterated their commitment to successful cruise operations and plan to continue working with the lines to address their concerns and provide the necessary conditions for their ships to call.
