The French Riviera Ports received many messages of support following the deadly Bastille Day attack on the Nice waterfront. Apart from losing two calls immediately after the incident, no further cruise bookings have been dropped, according to Caroline Valadie, cruise development manager, Riviera Ports.

And so far, the 2017 cruise schedule is unchanged.

Security, Valadie said, has been reinforced everywhere.

Disney Cruise Line sent an official to assess the situation, and next week a Carnival Corp. regional security manager for Europe will visit.

Valadie summed up the cruise situation as 'normal.'

Following the July 14 nighttime incident, when a truck driver went on a rampage as crowds were gathered along the Promenade des Anglais in Nice to watch Bastille Day fireworks, Villefranche lost calls by Royal Caribbean's Navigator of the Seas on July 15 and Celebrity Constellation on July 16. Those were the only cancellations.

The Riviera Ports has sent a note to its cruise line partners to thank them for their numerous messages of support.

'We are and will always be here to welcome you and your cruise guests to take advantage of the numerous attractions of our area,' the message said.

It added that 'all measures are being taken to ensure the safety of your passengers and crew in all of our ports of Cannes, Nice, Villefranche sur Mer and Antibes. We remain available for any further information and are present this summer to welcome you if you wish to visit us.'
