'Travel influencer' Wendy Perrin is Windstar's Star Breeze godmother

Windstar Cruises invited 'travel influencer' Wendy Perrin of WendyPerrin.com and formerly of Condé Nast Traveler to be the godmother of Star Breeze. The company, which is adding the 212-passenger Star Breeze and Star Legend in May, announced the news at Cruise Shipping Miami this week.

This prompted Perrin to post a column titled 'What I Have in Common with the Queen of England and the Rockettes.'

The two ships, former Seabourn vessels, will increase the Windstar fleet to 1,242 berths. Star Breeze will set sail from Nice to Civitaveccchia (Rome), with stops at Monte Carlo, Portofino and Portoferraio.

Perrin founded WendyPerrin.com to focus on travel solutions and travel planning. Earlier she spent two decades at Condé Nast Traveler as director of consumer news and digital community. There, she amassed a wealth of travel knowledge and recommendations, positioning herself as one of the travel industry’s most influential women. Perrin also is currently serving as TripAdvisor's first travel advocate.

Perrin expressed her delight to act as godmother, adding she 'can’t wait to experience the yacht, as well as those charming harbors that only small ships can sail into.' She will preside at the christening of Star Breeze on May 6 in Nice, France, and will attend Windstar's Lifestyles of the Glitterati Private Event in Monaco.

Perrin has sailed on Windstar twice as a guest lecturer, including on her honeymoon.

Star Breeze will undergo an $8.5m, three-week renovation in Genoa to overhaul public spaces, dining venues and suites prior to entering service for Windstar. Delivery of the ship from Seabourn is scheduled for April 15.
