The 135-meter Polaris will be operated by Riverman Cruises under Swiss flag and carry up to 181 passengers. 1AVista Reisen said the vessel — which has a crew of 44 — will be deployed on eight-day itineraries from Cologne to the Netherlands and Belgium and to Frankfurt and Strasbourg.

April 5 start

1AVista Reisen is taking bookings for Polaris, which will commence operations April 5 with a cruise to Rüdesheim, Frankfurt, Strasbourg/Kehl and Mainz. On April 12, the first cruise to Amsterdam, Lelystad, Rotterdam, Gent and Antwerp embarks. The itineraries may be combined into a 15-day 'Total Rhine' voyage.

These cruises are on offer until June 2022.

German source market recovery

The charter confirms the rapid recovery of German demand for river cruising.

1AVista Reisen MD Hagen Mesters, who looks to 2022 with optimism, said many itineraries offered next year are fully booked. He added that Polaris would help meet the high demand while extending 1AVista's offer in the deluxe segment.
