During his UK trip Vass’ primary focus to highlight Akorn/A&K’s newest cruise office in Sri Lanka.

‘There are three exceptional ports exclusive of the well-known Colombo harbour, and we have just developed a new folio of overlands, overnights and destination emersion programs, utilizing these lesser known ports in the south and along the eastern coast of this island, so rich with authentic travel highlights, UNESCO sites and wildlife,’ Vass told Seatrade Insider.

The feedback from shorex and itinerary executives has been very promising’, and the possibility of offering Sri Lanka during multi-port India calls also holds new possibilities for repeat passengers, especially world cruisers,’ the A&K executive commented.

Vass also highlighted for cruise executives representing Cunard, P&O, Swan Hellenic, Voyages of Discovery, Fred Olsen and Saga the significant new programs developed for what he referred to as its ‘hottest emerging cruise offices’ – Thailand and Myanmar, and reinforced the recent expansion of A&K’s Australia and South American cruise divisions.

‘Granted, I am leaving the UK with more than a few blisters on my feet from the London tube strikes and needing to walk to the various train stations, but band-aids aside, I’m also taking with me the enthusiasm of the UK land program executives who are so open to embracing new product, ports and ideas!’ Vass exclaimed.
