After weeks of delay, PortMiami tunnel allegedly to open Monday (updated)

Update: The PortMiami tunnel opened to traffic on Aug. 3, a day earlier than anticipated, but following weeks of delays. The long-delayed PortMiami tunnel is to open to the public early Monday, the Miami Herald reports.

Florida Gov. Rick Scott was on hand to inaugurate the $1bn tunnel May 19, 10 days ahead of its planned opening. But various issues postponed that for what has stretched into an 11-week period.

According to the Herald, a 6 a.m. Monday opening is targeted.
