The announcement of the extended partnership was made onboard AIDAmar in the port of Rostock-Warnemunde. AIDA Cruises will be the platinum sponsor and has been partner of Rostock Seawolves since August 2022.
'This partnership is much more than just a classic sponsorship. It thrives on joint actions and, above all, mutual support. For example, there is an AIDA fan block which was filled to capacity at every home game last season. Over the course of the season, a total of 2,200 AIDA employees and relatives cheered on the Seawolves at the local stadium,' said Felix Eichhorn, President AIDA Cruises.
Together the cruise line and sports club has run after-work events, co-founded the AIDA Student League, and created a 'Fit like a Wolf' fitness app.
The basketball team were invited to AIDAmar's bridge by captain Andreas Etzien, toured the ship and experienced the spa after the last game of the season on Sunday. A highlight was a basketball match with the crew.
'The two companies are not only connected by their location, but also by the same values such as cohesion, diversity and cosmopolitanism,' said Seawolves board member André Jürgens.
