AIDA, Twinkind team to debut 3-D portraits of cruisers

Passengers can have themselves scanned for a 3-D portrait available in a range of scales, from 1:24 to 1:5, with a maximum size of approximately 35 centimeters/13 inches. The resulting figure is mailed home to the passenger at the end of the cruise.

Prices start at €99.

The scanner is set up in AIDAbella's photo shop. The device's 200 sensors capture a dataset of the subject that's transmitted ashore where a 3-D printer generates the lifelike reproduction.

Passengers can book their portrait session on board or in advance of the cruise using MyAIDA.

Photo shops aboard other AIDA ships have started to promote the service and can arrange for shoreside 3-D photography on request.

AIDAbella will sail from Bangkok during the coming winter season.
