Boudicca arrived on the last day of March with around 500 guests going on shore excursions organised by Algeria Cruise Services(ACS) visiting either the centre of Algiers, others to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Tipasa and the Mausoleum of Mauretania and some visited WW2 related sites which included a heritage hotel where both Winston Churchill and Eisenhower stayed.

The call coincided with an official delegation led by South Africa’s President Zuma in Algiers which added colour to the day as our tours came across the delegation several times as they too were visiting the same sites as our guests, commented ACS’s joint managing director Ivan Mifsud.

Fred Olsen’s Balmoral is due to visit on April 27 and Black Watch on May 2.

Swan Hellenic’s Minerva is also making a maiden call to Algers at the end of May.
