American Cruise Lines launches new Tennessee River sailings
New eight-day Tennessee River sailings between Nashville and Chattanooga have begun at American Cruise Lines.
June 14, 2023
Passengers visit charming towns throughout the Tennessee Valley as they follow the river’s winding path into the Appalachian Mountains. Ports include Decatur and Florence, Alabama; Savannah, Tennessee; and Paducah, Kentucky. The itinerary also takes in the Cumberland River, exploring Lake Barkley and the Land Between the Lakes.
Wide-ranging excursions
The cruise includes a range of excursions such as visits to Shiloh National Military Park in Savannah, the US Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville and the National Quilt Museum in Paducah. Also available are active outdoor excursions like an ATV backcountry adventure in Chattanooga and a visit to The Shoals where participants can golf 18 holes at the Robert Trent Jones golf course.
The Tennessee Valley is also home to musical greats, from Johnny Cash to Patsy Cline, and there are opportunities to visit both singers' museums along with other music-focused experiences.
Free pre-cruise hotel night
The Tennessee River cruise includes a free pre-cruise hotel stay at Nashville or Chattanooga. Available for purchase is a two-night Grand Ole Opry Pre-Cruise Package in Nashville, which includes two nights at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, tickets to a show at the Grand Ole Opry, a Nashville City Exploration, breakfast each morning, luggage concierge and transportation to the ship for embarkation.
2023 cruises will operate June through August aboard three of the company’s five Mississippi riverboats, including the newly christened American Serenade. The program will be reprised in 2024 on an extended season from May to early November.
