American Cruise Lines on the cusp of a 17-ship season

This month American begins operations with two riverboats and two small ships sailing along the East Coast from Florida and South Carolina, the West Coast from California and the Mississippi River from Louisiana.

More than 50 itineraries spanning 35 states

In 2023 the company will field 17 ships, each carrying 90 to 180 passengers, on more than 50 itineraries spanning 35 states.

'More small ships exploring in more states than ever before is the best way that I can think of to celebrate 50 years cruising America’s waterways,' said Charles B. Robertson, president & CEO, American Cruise Lines.

New California itinerary

On the West Coast, American Jazz will embark Feb. 24 on a new eight-day San Francisco Bay and California Delta itinerary through wine country on the Napa, Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers.

On the East Coast, two of the company’s smallest ships, 90-passenger American Star and American Independence, depart Feb. 18 and Feb. 25. American Star will begin the season with an eight-day 'Great Rivers of Florida' cruise, round-trip Jacksonville. Sister American Independence will sail the the eight-day 'Historic South & Golden Isles' itinerary between Charleston, South Carolina and Amelia Island, Florida.

Five vessels on the Mississippi

And the newly renovated American Heritage, one of the company’s classic paddlewheelers, begins the 2023 season on the Mississippi, following a classic eight-day Lower Mississippi itinerary from New Orleans to Memphis, departing Feb. 25.

American Cruise Lines offers five new riverboats and 11 itineraries on the Mississippi alone in 2023.

Chesapeake Bay, Pacific Northwest, New England, Hudson River 

The 2023 season continues with Chesapeake Bay cruises in March, Columbia and Snake rivers cruises and Puget Sound cruises in April, New England cruises in May, Alaska cruises in June, Hudson River cruises in September and holiday cruises in November and December.

American offers domestic flat-rate airfare for all its cruises and complimentary pre-cruise hotel stays in cities across the country.
