The 13-day Austral Islands voyages aboard the 250-passenger Aranui 5 will call at Tubuai, Rurutu, Rimatara, Raivavae and Rapa Iti, which is only accessible by sea, with visits to Raiatea and Bora Bora on the return leg to Papeete.

They will depart Papeete on February 14, 2026, March 28, September 12 and October 24.

Tuamotus atolls

There is also a five-day cruise to the Tuamotus atolls Mataiva, Makatea and Anaa, departing May 22, as well as 20 traditional 12-day round cruises from Papeete to the Marquesas.

‘We are thrilled to be expanding our programme in the south of French Polynesia with four Austral Islands itineraries,’ Laurent Wong, Aranui Cruises' regional representative Australia and New Zealand, said.

Sustainable tourism

Wong said only four Austral Islands voyages in 2026 is a sustainable way to introduce these remote islands to tourism, while offering repeat Aranui passengers a new itinerary to entice them back.

Discounts

There is a 15% early bird discount on the Austral Islands voyages and a 10% discount on the Marquesas Islands and Tuamotu voyages booked by December 31 this year.

An increase in passengers booking consecutive cruises has led to the introduction of a 15% discount on back-to-back Marquesas voyages with Austral Islands or Tuamotu itineraries.
