Verhounig revealed only last month in an interview with Seatrade Cruise that on board operations would be put out to a third party ship manager.

‘Their vision, combined with substantial investment in advanced technology, were instrumental in our decision to appoint them,’ he explained. ‘Ambience  will be modernised, and beside upgrades in cabins and public areas, will be outfitted with emission reduction technologies to be IMO Tier III compliant prior to the start of her inaugural cruise season in 2022.

‘She will not only adhere to the latest rules regarding emission reductions but will already be compliant with rules that do not come into force until 2025.’

The line aims to cut the ship’s nitrogen oxide emissions by 70%; it will be outfitted with the latest ballast and sewage water treatment systems, enabling it to sail in strictly environmentally protected seas.

Britain’s newest cruise line

Martin Springer, MD, BSM Cruise Services added that the company ‘is excited to… be part of launching Britain’s newest cruise line.’

The 70,285 gt vessel is currently in lay up in Bar, southern Montenegro.
