Canada/New England Cruise Symposium announces panelists
Sessions on port marketing, cruise industry issues and trends, itinerary planning, shore excursions, multi-channel marketing and growing the Canada/New England market are on tap for the Canada/New England Cruise Symposium.

The June 11-13 event is hosted by the Port of Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador.
The State of the Industry session will be moderated by Christine Duffy, president and ceo of Cruise Lines International Association. Panelists include Brian Webb, executive director, Cruise Atlantic Canada; René Trépanier, executive director, Cruise the Saint Lawrence; Amy Powers, director, CruiseMaineUSA; Michael Vanderbeek, deputy port director, sales and marketing, maritime department, Massachusetts Port Authority; and Elizabeth Shearin, vp cruise operations, NYCruise.
CruiseMaineUSA's Powers will moderate the itinerary planning session, which features Simon Douwes, director, deployment and itinerary planning, Holland America Line; Marc Miller, senior manager, deployment and itinerary planning, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.; and Matthew James Bradley-Swan, director of business development, Adventure Canada.
The shore excursions session, moderated by Betty MacMillan, manager, cruise development, Cruise Saint John, features Emilio Freeman, director, brand operations and destination delivery, RCCL Global Tour Operations; Lisa Jensen, manager, Caribbean and Atlantic shore operations, Princess Cruises; and Lily Urrutia, manager, product development shore excursions, Norwegian Cruise Line.
Multi-channel marketing will be moderated by Tony Boemi, vp growth and development, Montréal Port Authority. Panelists are Mark Ittel, partner, svp ports and maritime, Bermello Ajamil & Partners; Virginia Sheridan, managing partner, M. Silver, a division of Finn Partners; and Carmela Murphy, assistant deputy minister, tourism, Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Tourism, Culture and Recreation.
The town hall session on growing the Canada/New England market features Mike Pawlus, director, strategic planning and scheduling, Silversea Cruises, and Tom Anderson, director, shore operations, Americas, Princess Cruises. The moderator is Anne Kalosh, US editor, Seatrade Insider/Seatrade Cruise Review.
A 'Cruise 101' introduction to port marketing will be hosted by Cruise Newfoundland & Labrador. Another event of the symposium will be a speed networking session pairing cruise line executives and media with ports and destinations.
