Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, Cunard and Seabourn announced they're holding travel advisor commission tiers earned in 2019 through 2022.

This means travel advisors will continue to get commission at their current rates for the next two years. 

'By maintaining our current commission tiers, we’re recognizing the important role that travel advisors play in the vacation-selling process while providing peace of mind knowing their efforts through 2022 will be compensated at the rate they have worked so hard to earn,' said Adolfo Perez, Carnival’s SVP global trade sales and marketing.

Follows prior tier extension through 2021

The lines had previously announced commission tiers would be maintained through 2021, so this extends that protection for an additional year. Commissions are typically commensurate with sailed booking volumes.

For Holland America's part, 'We are partners in this journey and must lean into our collective community as we move forward to a return to cruise,' said Michelle Sutter, VP North America sales. 'Our focus is to do everything we can to support the pursuit of cruise sales and reassure travel advisors that, once we are back in full swing, they will be in a strong position for success.'

One of the top priorities at Seabourn, according to Steve Smotrys, VP global sales, is the 'continual growth and commitment to our longstanding partnership with the travel advisor community. We recognize the difficulties our industry continues to face but remain focused on a successful return to service together.'

'In gratitude for the work travel advisors have done during the past year and as a testament to our partnership, we wanted to assure travel advisors that we are protecting their commission levels,' added John Chernesky, SVP North America sales and trade marketing, Princess Cruises, also on behalf of Cunard.
