Carnival's 2022 Excel-class ship is named Carnival Celebration
With the help of celebrity partners past and present, Carnival Cruise Line today announced its Excel-class ship arriving in 2022 will be called Carnival Celebration.
August 21, 2020
It's a particularly fitting choice as a throwback to one of the early ships in the fleet and since Carnival will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2022.
'Our 50th birthday present to our guests'
Carnival President Christine Duffy called Carnival Celebration 'our 50th birthday present to our guests.'
Fun Ship partners including Kathie Lee Gifford, Guy Fieri, Shaquille O’Neal, Emeril Lagasse and Vanna White, among others, unwrapped boxes that revealed the letters of the Celebration name. Check out the video here.
Miami homeport
Carnival Celebration will debut at PortMiami in November 2022 from the new Terminal F as the sister of Mardi Gras, scheduled to enter service on Feb. 6, 2021 from Port Canaveral. The addition of Carnival Celebration to Miami will maintain PortMiami's position as the top embarkation port for Carnival Cruise Line.
Carnival Celebration will include many of the features that have made Mardi Gras so anticipated, including BOLT, the first roller-coaster at sea, along with some design elements created specifically for this vessel.
Carnival’s 50th birthday celebration kicks off in March 2022 — the company’s birthday month — with a series of commemorative sailings featuring special entertainment and itineraries then continue all year long, culminating with the arrival of Carnival Celebration to Miami in November. Additional information is available here.
Sales open in October
Carnival Celebration’s itineraries will be announced over the coming weeks and sales will open in October.
