Carnival Splendor heads back to its Sydney home

Carnival Splendor is returning to its homeport of Sydney, Australia after a lively send-off from Seattle.

Nearly 1,000-day hiatus

Carnival Splendor will become the first Fun Ship returning to passenger operations in Australia in nearly 1,000 days.

23-day trans-Pacific cruise

On Tuesday, a sail-away party on Carnival Splendor's top deck kicked off a 23-day trans-Pacific 'Carnival Journeys' cruise. Passengers from around the world, including many from Australia, will visit six ports across Fiji and Hawaii before arriving at Sydney on Sept. 30.

Oct. 1 marks 10 years of Australia operations

Carnival Splendor’s first cruise from Sydney will depart Oct. 1, a milestone that coincides with Carnival’s 10th year of operations in Australia. The ship will sail year-round from Sydney on a range of itineraries.

In November Carnival Luminosa will join the fleet and complete Carnival's two-ship Australia deployment with sailings from Brisbane.
