Carnival veteran joins Royal Caribbean in senior shorex role

Carnival Cruise Lines veteran Joan Levicoff-Sanchez, who for the past four years has acted as a consultant on entertainment charters, joined Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. in a new shore excursions role.

As senior manager, shore excursions sales, Sanchez is responsible for managing all aspects of the sales and corresponding service for excursions including groups, charters, cruise-tours and customized tour products. She reports to Nancy Ramos, director of marketing for Global Tour Operations, and the shore excursions sales team reports to her.

Sanchez most recently served as a consultant for Flying Dutchmen Travel, specializing in full-ship entertainment charters working with music celebrities. Before that, she spent 20 years at Carnival in various group, charters, meetings and incentive roles. Her last position was vp large group sales and operations. She left in August 2010.

The md of Royal Caribbean's Global Tour Operations is another former long-time Carnival Cruise Lines and Carnival Corp. & plc executive, Roberta Jacoby.

Besides her sales expertise, Sanchez has strong relationships with a wide variety of travel retailers and consortia.
