For the sail into Bayonne, New Jersey's Cape Liberty, Capt. Kate McCue was on the bridge, along with Capt. Dimitris Kafetzis, who completed the ship’s trans-Atlantic crossing.

Celebrity Cruises' third Edge-class vessel has been operating in Europe since its April delivery and will make its inaugural US cruise Oct. 26 from Bayonne to Fort Lauderdale. The nine-night southern Caribbean sailing will visit Bermuda, Curaçao and Aruba.

Nov. 4 naming at Port Everglades

Celebrity Beyond is then scheduled to be named by champion Olympic gymnast Simone Biles during Nov. 4 festivities at Port Everglades.

After that the ship will offer a variety of seven-night Caribbean cruises to destinations including Puerto Plata, St. Thomas and St. Maarten, and the Bahamas, Mexico and Grand Cayman.

Larger, with new and redesigned venues

Celebrity Beyond is 20 meters longer than Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Apex and sports new and redesigned spaces.

'This ship is at the forefront of travel innovation — it’s a luxury resort, spa resort and culinary haven combined into one exceptional "Journey WonderFULL,"' Celebrity Cruises President and CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo said, citing the brand's advertising message.
