Celebrity Cruises became the latest line to announce Alaska plans this summer, starting July 23 with weekly round-trips from Seattle.

Nine sailings are planned through mid-September.

Vaccination requirement drops to age 12 Aug. 1

Crew and passengers over 16 must be vaccinated for COVID-19. As of Aug. 1, all US passengers 12 and older must be fully vaccinated.

'I just can't say enough about how wonderful it is to return to Alaska,' Celebrity President and Lisa Lutoff-Perlo said. 'I have always had a special place in my heart for the incredible people, amazing wildlife and the beauty of this great state and once our guests visit, they do, too.'

Lutoff-Perlo noted the Alaskan communities have been hurting without tourism, especially cruising, and expressed her appreciation to elected officials across the country for recognizing the need and finding a way to restore them to their livelihoods.

Destinations include Ketchikan, Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier, Juneau and Skagway.

Then to the Caribbean

Following Alaska, Celebrity Summit will reposition to the Caribbean via a 16-night Panama Canal cruise to begin a series of four- and five-night itineraries.

Summit becomes the sixth ship returning to service for Celebrity, following plans for Celebrity Millennium sailings from St. Maarten beginning June 5, Celebrity Apex debuting in Greece June 19 and three Galápagos ships, starting with Celebrity Flora July 4, Celebrity Xpedition July 24 and Celebrity Xploration Sept. 18.
