Cruise Lines International Association launched a four-week programme that aims to enhance agents’ river cruise knowledge and expertise.

The ‘River Cruise Challenge’ has been rolled out by CLIA’s River Cruise Working Group as the trade gears up for the crucial wave period, and is intended to boost product and destination knowledge, as well as help agents keep up to date with this fast-moving sector.  

River-specific learning

CLIA’s river-specific learning tools, include ‘New-to-River Cruise Guide' and two online training modules, available via the CLIA website. Agents can also view related videos and past webinars, and subscribe to the CLIA ‘RiverView Podcast’ via the site.

Andy Harmer, CLIA UK & Ireland managing director, said: ‘River cruise is going from strength to strength. The River Cruise Challenge is available now, as well as next year, for agents who are keen to grow their river cruise sales into 2022 and beyond.’

A raft of optional river cruise events, initiatives and tools are additionally on offer from CLIA to the trade. These include the more in-depth CLIA RiverView online training module; the 10th anniversary RiverView Conference in Budapest next March and is open for registration now; and the main CLIA Conference, scheduled for May, where river cruise will form part of the presentations and content.
