Costa Group appoints gm for northern Europe

Ralph Remkes, an executive with extensive digital marketing and sales experience, joined Costa Group as general manager for the new northern Europe region. He reports to Massimo Brancaleoni, svp worldwide sales.

Remkes leads the recently created northern Europe region with its coordination center at the Costa offices in Amsterdam. This sees Costa and AIDA joining forces for a new sales and marketing organization for Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark.

The northern Europe region has 13 sales staff to support travel agents selling Costa and AIDA cruises.

The two heads of sales, Kay Sion for Benelux and Giancarlo Tedesco for Scandinavia, report to Remkes, as does business intelligence manager Francesco Minerva.

Remkes' experience includes chief of digital marketing at beslist.nl, a price comparison website, and marketing manager for Neckermann.com. He is from Utrecht, Netherlands.
