'Reduced rates and high on-board credit offers make the Mediterranean the best deal available this spring,' said Scott Knutson, vp sales and marketing for Costa Cruises North America. 'Throw in the current affordability of international airfare and how strong the dollar is against the euro, and Americans have a chance to get more bang for their buck than ever before on a Costa cruise.'

The new 132,500gt Costa Diadema will be sailing week-long western Mediterranean cruises from Marseille on Feb. 22 and March 15 and 22, from Savona on March 14 and 21 and from Barcelona on March 16 and 23. Destinations include La Spezia (for Florence), Naples and Ajaccio in Corsica. Rates start at $499 per person, double occupancy, on cruises from Feb. 22 through March 16, and $599 for the late March departures.

The 114,500gt Costa Fascinosa's seven-night cruises sail round-trip from Marseille, Savona and Civitavecchia (Rome). Destinations are Palermo in Sicily, Palma de Mallorca, Tunis or La Valletta, and Marseille or Barcelona. Costa Fascinosa departs Savona March 1, 15 and 22; Civitavecchia March 2, 16 and 23; and Marseille March 14. Rates start at $499 per person, double occupancy on all departures.

Passengers will receive on-board credits of up to $50 per person in interior cabins, $100 per person in ocean-view cabins and $200 per person in balcony cabins.

Reduced fares for the third and fourth person in a cabin also are available on all sailings with rates starting at $199 for children ages 17 and under and $299 for adults. Third and fourth occupants are not eligible for on-board credits.
