From late-March, Costa Smeralda will resume Italy sailings
Costa Cruises’ Costa Smeralda will resume sailing in Italy on March 27 with three- and four-day mini-cruises or a seven-day cruise, calling Savona, La Spezia, Civitavecchia (Rome), Naples, Messina and Cagliari, with all other cruises scheduled until the end of May cancelled.

From May 1, Costa Smeralda will begin sailing one-week cruises in the western Mediterranean, calling Savona, Civitavecchia and Palermo, Italy; Marseille, France; and Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca, Spain.

Costa Luminosa

Costa Luminosa is set to depart from Trieste May 2, and the following day from Bari, in a return to a series of one-week cruises in Greece and Croatia.

Health measures

Enhanced health and safety measures through the implementation of the Costa Safety Protocol will apply to both vessels. These include limiting passenger capacity, swab tests for all guests and crew, temperature checks when disembarking and re-embarking the ship, protected shore excursions, physical distancing on board and at the cruise terminals, new ways of using on-board services, enhanced sanitation and medical services, and use of protective face masks.

The cruise line reports that it is also working with national and local authorities of countries outside Italy to define details of the restart of cruise operations.
