Droney has been 'instrumental in creating, managing and coordinating The World’s worldwide diverse itineraries and expeditions for residents and guests,' the company said in a statement to Seatrade Insider.

The World also credited Droney with conducting shipboard workshops about itinerary issues and improving the itinerary-planning process to provide richer experiences and more choices.

Droney will continue to be responsible for itinerary planning and port operations, while using his expertise to oversee the strategy and direction of the Destination Services Department.

Before The World, Droney ran a consulting business that provided services to companies including David Morris International. Earlier, he held destination-related positions at Silversea Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Renaissance Cruises and Royal Viking Line.
