It's official: Explora I's maiden voyage was postponed from July 17 to Aug. 1 because the ship's delivery is delayed.

As earlier reported, the July 8 naming festivities were canceled after Fincantieri and MSC Group's cruise division agreed to make further enhancements in the final building stages, delaying the handover by a few weeks.

Seven-night cruise

Explora Journeys' new maiden voyage, a seven-night itinerary from Copenhagen to Reykjavik, will call at Lerwick, Shetland Islands and Kirkwall, Orkney.

No word yet on when Explora I's naming festivities will take place.
