The funeral takes place today.

‘We will miss Gunilla, who is now with her inseparable Corrado, with whom she shared with elegance and sobriety the success of the Fincantieri Group, and was always proud to be a full part of it,’ commented Bono remembering the wife of Antonini a champion of European shipbuilding who led Fincantieri during the years when its cruise orderbook ballooned.

Bono continued, ‘She was part of our world, being a close personal friend, together with her husband of Micky Arison, chairman of Carnival Corp. & plc. and was the godmother of Princess Cruises’ Star Princess during the christening ceremony at Fincantieri’s Monfalcone shipyard on January 25, 2002.

Corrado Antonin and his wife Gunilla are survived by their daughters Carola and Camilla.
