Founded in 2000 by travel entrepreneur Karl Espen Fjermeros, CruiseNorway.com specializes in premium and luxury Norwegian coastal voyages, expedition cruises to the polar regions including Antarctica, the Arctic, Iceland and Greenland, and small ship explorer cruises worldwide. It has customers from around the world.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

CruiseNorway.com is Global Voyages Groups' second acquisition this year, following SmallShipCruises.com.

According to David Giersdorf, president and ceo, this expands Global Voyages Group's platform for connecting the specialty cruise operator brands it markets with a growing segment of consumers.

'The Cruise Norway team has created an impressive business, and represent the highest levels of experience, expertise and professionalism. We are honored to have CruiseNorway.com become part of Global Voyages Group and are confident of our ability to expand the reach and offerings of CruiseNorway.com,' Giersdorf added.

For his part, Fjermeros said the company was drawn to Global Voyages Groups' 'impeccable reputation and leadership position in the category.'

It has been a deeply rewarding experience to create and grow Cruise Norway and to participate in the expansion of the specialty cruise industry,' he added.

'CruiseNorway.com is one of the very early examples of online travel specialists, and I could not be more proud of the talented team of individuals who have been so important to the success of the company.'
